Lifelong love of knitting .
Hello! I’m Alice, the hands and heart behind Balnain Bears. I’ve been knitting since I was four years old-over four decades of turning yarn into treasures. While I’m relatively new to spinning, I’ve embraced the art with passion, transforming raw fleece into soft, sturdy wool that gives each bear its soul.
I use fibre that is already for spinning also, I process local raw fleece into fibre.
From fleece to friend
Every Balnain begins as a fleece that is either prepared for me or I process. This process is very lengthy, I carefully wash, card, then spin the fibre into lovely wool already to knit into my quirky bears & other animals.
